Baby Storytime

We had a big crowd for our last baby storytime of the winter/spring session!

First we read...

Ten Little Fingers, Two Small Hands by Kristy Dempsey

...and then did this little fingerplay and song to celebrate our hands and fingers:

Marching Fingers from Storytime Secrets

Up the hill, down the hill,
Marching they will go.
When they're up, they're high.
When they're down, they're low.
Ten little fingers marching in a row.

I Can from the King County Library System
Tune: Wheels on the Bus

I can make my hands
Go clap, clap, clap,
Clap, clap, clap,
Clap, clap, clap.
I can make my hands
Go clap, clap, clap.
They’re a part of me.

Repeat with: wave, wave, wave ; stretch up so high; shake, shake, shake

Next we read...

Who Can Jump? by Sebastien Braun

...and some puppets joined us for a jumping version of "Did You Ever See" sung to the tune of "The More We Get Together" adapted from Miss Katie

Last we read...

Gotta Go, Buffalo : A Silly Book of Fun Goodbyes by Kevin & Haily Meyers

We learned the baby sign for "go" this week and then sang two little goodbye songs:

With My Little Hands from Storytime Katie

We Wave Goodbye from Storytime Secrets
Tune: The Farmer in the Dell

We wave goodbye like this.
We wave goodbye like this.
We clap our hands for all our friends.
We wave goodbye like this.

We send a kiss like this.
We send a kiss like this.
We send a kiss to all our friends.
We send a kiss like this.

We’ll see you here in June.
We’ll see you here in June.
I’ll miss you but we’ll be back soon.
We’ll see you here in June.

Baby Storytime returns on Friday, June 16th.  See you soon!  Playtime will continue on Fridays at 11 during our storytime break. Check out our programming page for more information here.
