Book Reviews from Pippi the Parrot

Pippi the Parrot
If you are anything like me, you are always on the look-out for silly new picture books. Oh boy, oh boy do I have some good ones for you! I was pecking through the shelves at the library today and came across a couple books that made me squawk out loud! The first book caught my attention just because of the title, The Boy Who Cried Ninja. I don’t know about you, but I personally am a ninja fan, so I had to find out what this book was all about. This story is full of crazy antics (which I love), like cake-kicking ninjas, sunburned crocodiles breaking TV antennas, and monkeys throwing pencils at a sleeping grampa (which grampas totally hate). I don’t want to give away the rest of the story, so I won’t say much more, except . . . you HAVE to read this book!

The way I feel about ninjas is VERY different from the way I feel about dogs. I don’t care for the way dogs smell or how they slobber everywhere, and I don’t get why they are always chasing things! Normally I would Say DON’T bother reading books about dogs, but today I found an exception. The grumpy dogs on the cover of Say Hello to Zorro looked so funny I had to take a peek. This is the story of a dog with a very particular schedule that must learn to share his day, and his stuff, when a new dog moves in. The crazy faces that these dogs make are absolutely hilarious; you have to check it out!

I hope you enjoy these silly stories, they sure made me squawk!
